Okay, so I know I'm probably extremely late to this trend. But lately I'd been scrolling around on Pinterest and kept coming across "vision boards" Which may seem pretty self explanatory as to what it is. I mean its a board filled with your visions, or what you want, right? But even so I figured I'd look into it a little more to see how to make one and what its purpose is. Which as you probably guessed is exactly what I'll be talking about today. Just in case there's a small chance someone else like me wants to know a little more about them.
Okay so what is it?
A vision board, or a dream board is pretty much exactly what is sounds like. It's a visual representation of pictures, words, or quotes of everything that helps depict your dreams or the visions you have of your future. And it serves as a source of inspiration to motivate you to work for everything you want to be, do, or have.
Why use one?
Vision boards allow you to maintain your focus on your goals. They serve as a everyday reminder of what your working for, especially on the days that are hard and your struggling to get through.
They also work hand in hand with manifestation. I'm sure many of you have heard people say things like if you really want something, visualize yourself with it in the future, and you'll eventually get there. Whether that's walking into your dream house or driving around in the car you've always wanted. Well vision boards do exactly that. They allow you to see and visualize everything your working for on a daily basis. Whether it's on the background of your laptop (like mine) or if you've printed out the pictures and put them on a board to hang up in your room.
Not only do they help you get the life you want, but they're also really aesthetic ways to decorate your room or laptop.
What exactly do you put on them?
Just in case your still unsure of what to put on your vision board, I've included a list of ideas to help get you started:
Where you want to go?
Where's that one place you've always wanted to travel to? Paris, Greece, a different state?
Dream career?
What do you want to do for a living, or maybe you already have a job is it everything you wanted, or is there something else you want to work towards?
Dream Car or pet?
Maybe you already have a car, but what's the one you've always wanted, what's the one you pictured yourself in when you were younger? Or maybe you just want a companion to hang with, which one is it?
Future you?
You might be completely happy with the person you are now, but maybe there's something you want a little more of in your personality. Maybe its being more positive, or active, or maybe you want to work on your eating habits.
There's many more thing you can incorporate in you vision board, but hopefully these can help get you started.

Creating your own
After you've thought of everything you want future you to have you can create it. There's many ways you can go about this. For mine (shown above) I went on Pinterest and saved all the images that I felt best applied to me and my goals. I picked pictures of places I want to go, of the career I want to have, my future dog, future car, etc and I compiled them all together in a collage using the app Collageable that's free in the app store. And was able to create mine without having to spend any money. However if you choose you can print out your pictures and create a board for your wall or there's even apps now that will help you create your vision board.
And don't forget to update it every once in a while to make sure it reflects your most current aspirations. Put new quotes, and pictures on there to get you excited and motivated to keep moving forward! That way it won't be forgotten and will serve as your constant motivator!
